Results: I used Google Scholar because it tends to be a good source for finding journal articles. I have found in the past that it helps to be as specific as possible in order to limit the number of results. I also edited the search so that I only retrieved articles that had been published in 2007 and after. This search yielded quite a few articles, so I spent some time looking through them. One article that I found to be interesting is "The Europeanization of organic agriculture and conflicts over agricultural policy" which was published in Food Policy. This article gives a brief history of how a "European" organic market was created through various regulations. It also discusses how when a country entered the EU, influences its view of organic farming and the financial support provided for it. Food Policy is a respected journal that I have also used articles from it in the past and the author of this particular article is a professor at a university in Denmark. I am also interested in the environmental aspects of organic farming in the EU was I was happy to find this article that was published in the Journal of Environmental Management, "On the choice of farm management practices after the reform of the Common Agricultural Policy in 2003." It is interesting it that they created a mathematical model to evaluate how agricultural producers in Austria responded to various CAP reforms. It is a little narrow in that it only focuses on one EU country and this country isn't a large producer of agricultural commodities. However, it may be useful when I have a better idea of the direction my paper will take. This search yielded quite a few other articles, that may be useful at some point.
