Search Terms: European Union Cultural Policy
This particular collection of search terms did not yield any results in ASP, but, after tinkering with these terms, the search system used “SmartText” to yield over 1,100,000 hits. From an initial evaluation of the materials produced from the first view pages of results, several journals with multiple articles seem to be useful sources for further searches. Those journals include the Journal of Arts Management, Law & Society, European Societies, European Journal of Social Theory, and European Studies: A Journal of European Culture, History & Politics. Dr. Monica Sassatelli has several articles in these journals, and her work as a sociologist could add an additional perspective when examining the literature produced by the EU about cultural policy. Also, this search revealed that “cultural industry policy” is a hot topic currently, but the culture industry materials are more economic than social or cultural in scope, and thus do not address my specific research topic. I hope to examine the sources listed below and to use their bibliographies as a starting point for collecting primary data.
