Results: Several books turned up. In particular, Matt Marshall’s book describes the origins of the ECB and its effect on Europe’s financial power in the international financial system. In short, Marshall covers issues of transparency and venture capital that I think will be beneficial for a paper on the functions of the ECB. The book was published in 1999, 10 years ago, and would only be able to provide little info on the effect of venture tech on the Euro. It also would not be able to give me information on government response to the recession.

Results: This particular publication examines monetary policy. Although it does not give insight into legislation that could be passed by EU institutions to assist with the recession, I think it will be beneficial to look at monetary policy during 2008. The method of implementation will also be important for my reasearch.

Results: 5 publications turned up. These are suggested papers by the ECB. This particular paper also looks at the ECB history. It will be beneficial to get a history of the organization from the ECB itself. The publication also examines: 1. EMU, the ECB and the euro. 2. Central banking in EMU: legal, institutional and organizational aspects. 3. ECB policies and Euro System activities. 4. The ECB and the European Community. 5. The ECB's involvement in international cooperation. I think policy analysis will be beneficial for a paper on different types of government interaction with banking.
