Results: This book is very broad just like my topic. The Table of contents gives a braod view on the different issues rised by the question of human rights within the EU which will help me to narrow my topic. But the point is that it has been published in 1999 which is quite old regard to the fact that the same year through the Cologne European Council, i had been decided to consolidate in a charter all the fundamental rights applicable to the EU.

Results: With the futur implementation of the EU Constitution which included the Charter of fudamental rights, it is no longer possible to speak about the human rights within the EU without mentioning this charter.
The article from BBC News gives brief but interesting answers to main questions about this charter. It points out very interesting question such as the fact that this legal document as for the moment is not binding and the fact that some countries such as UK are opposed to it because it will undermine their national sovereignty.
